  Registration Now Underway For BCC  
  February 2, 2012 Edition  
     Baseball and softball registration for Boardman Community Baseball for the 2012 season is now underway.
      Programs are held in a variety of divisions for the some 1000 boys and girls who compete every spring and summer on the BCB teams.
      Boys Programs - Ages 5-18
      •4 & 5 year old boys play Mushball(Coed). Basic skills taught, coach pitch, batting tee used if needed. Emphasis on learning & having fun.
      •6 & 7 year old boys play Rookie League. Basic skills taught, coaches pitch, emphasis on learning and teamwork. Reduced Injury Factory (RIF) ball used.
      •8 year olds play Minor A. Basic skills taught, coaches pitch, emphasis on learning and teamwork. Little League hardball used.
      •Some 8, 9, & 10 year old boys play Minor AA League. Players pitch.
      •Some 10’s, 11, & 12 year old boys play Major League. Players are assigned according to draft.
      •13 and 14 year old boys play Tri-T Pony League. Home games are at the Fields of Dreams with away games played at surrounding communities.
      •15 through 18 year old boys play Tri-T Colt League. Home games are played at the Fields of Dreams with away games played at surrounding communities. Each 18-year-old must be a 2012 high school graduate. No college 18-year-olds will be allowed..

      Girls Program - Ages 5-18

      •15-18 year old girls play Tri-T Palomino League. Home games are played at the Fields of Dreams with away games played at surrounding communities.

      Those parents planning to gester their children should remeber to pay appropriate registration fees; and provide family doctor, dentist, and emergency contact person names and phone numbers.
      Challenger Program
      Boardman Community Baseball offers a Challenger Baseball Program for physically and mentally disabled boys and girls ages 6-18 (or 22 if still in school) who reside in the Tri-County area. Games are played at the Fields of Dreams with the season running from mid June until late July. For more information, contact Jim Colaluca (330-881-7546).

      Age Requirements
      The baseball age is the age of BCB players is set at April 30, 2012 for boys and December 31, 2011 for girls. A child must be 4 years old by Apr. 30, 2012 for boys and Dec. 31, 2011 for girls to participate. All players must reside in the Boardman Local School District.
