The Boardman News was founded at Boardman Centre in Nov. 1947 by Jack A. Darnell and has been continually published since that time. The newspaper is the longest consecutively published community newspaper in Mahoning County. Folling his graduation from Kent State University, Jack's son, John A. Darnell Jr., joined the newspaper on a full-time basis in 1971.
The newspaper is now operated by John A. Darnell Jr. and his wife, Gwen.
The Boardman News is distributed throughout Boardman Township and Mahoning County, as well as to subscribers in 33 state.
The Boardman News is published once a week, every thursday. Deadline for news and advertising is noon, the Tuesday before publication. |
