Meeting on Monday night, Boardman Trustees approved some $217,880 to lease/purchase vehicles and related equipment for the road, police, fire and zoning departments, in conjunction with the state of Ohio’s cooperative purchasing program.
      Approved for the Boardman Road Department were the following:
      •Ford Explorer, $25,158; a Ford 350 cab and chassis, $21,641; a Ford F-250 pick-up truck, $21,556; a Knapheide contractor’s bed, $7800.
      Approved for the Boardman Police Department were the following:
      •Two Ford Utility Police Interceptors, $51,200; each equipped with a mobile radio at a total cost of $8176.
      Approved for the Boardman Fire Department were the following:
      •A Ford Expedition SSV, $33,988; and a Ford Interceptor Utility SUV, $25,192.
      Approved for the Zoning Department was the following:
      •A GMC Sierra truck, $23,168.
      Trustees also approved the purchase of a 48-inch Toro Turbo Force lawnmower at a cost of $5699.
