The Oktoberfestival is the largest single raiser of the Rotary Club of Boardman which uses the proceeds to support programs and causes throughout the local area. Other club programs and projects take on an international connection when the Rotary partners with other groups around the globe.
The Oktoberfestival started in 1976 as a community day to promote Boardman Township and the residents of the township together in a spirit of fellowship.
The Oktoberfestival has grown into the area’s largest one-day arts and crafts event, Visitors to this annual fall celebration now come from neighboring states and often arrive by the bus load.
In addition to the vendors, the event features a variety of ‘fair food,’ politicians touting their promises, and kid’s entertainment, all laid out along a midway through the park.
Boardman Rotarians chairing this year’s Okterberfestival are Shannon Tirone and Shelly LaBerto. |
