ACCLAIMED GUITARIST PHIL KEAGGY, who once attended Boardman Local Schools, headlined the annual Youngstown Symphony Orchestra’s Holiday Pops Concert at the Powers Auditorium in downtown Youngstown last Saturday night before a sold-out audience. There was plenty of local talent featured, including the Youngstown Connection,and 2011 Youngstown Symphony vocal award winner Sarah Crouse, of Salem, with Randall Craig Fleischer, symphony conductor. Greg Smith, of Boardman, joined the orchestra to conduct the orchestra’s rendition of Sleigh Ride. Students from West Blvd. and Stadium Dr. Elementary Schools also performed, along with students from the Christina Gant Sterling Strings Studio in Canfield who presented a medley of holiday songs.
