Robinwood Lane Elementary School on Indianola Rd. held a dedication ceremony for the school’s newly established Memory Garden on Tues., May 21. The event marked the culmination of a heartfelt project initiated following the tragic passing of kindergarten student Anastasia Weaver in January, 2023; followed by a second tragic loss just 10 months later of Robinwood’s beloved school nurse, Amy Carkido, after her courageous fight with cancer. Thanks to the generosity of Spartan staff, families, and community donations, a memory garden now graces the entrance of the school providing a serene space for reflection and remembrance. Students contributed by painting handmade rocks, and plants were donated by Petitti Garden Center. Additionally, Tony DiGiacomo of Second Nature Landscape Services played a significant role in the garden’s creation, and a memorial bench was donated by M&J Crown LLC.
