Boardman Township Administration and Fire Department officials are making themselves available to talk to community groups about the Fire Department’s
Lifesaving EMS Initiative.
A press release issued by Boardman Township says “Like most of the United States, Boardman is facing a ‘perfect storm,’ with an aging population, a substantial increase in EMS calls and a shortage of EMS companies and personnel. Township officials are considering putting a levy on the ballot in November to protect the health and safety of township residents by providing EMS coverage at all fire stations.” Earlier this month (in June), officials held an open house at the main fire station on Market St. At that meeting, Township Administrator Jason Loree and Fire Chief Mark Pitzer presented an informative slideshow and answered questions about the issue. Persons who are a member of a Boardman-based church or civic group that would like to hear more about the issue and/or host a presentation at your next meeting please call Chief Pitzer at (330) 726-4155 or email mpitzer@boardmantwp.com
