Female Whom Police Believe Could Be A Juvenile Booked Into Mahoning County Jail
  June 27, 2024 Edition
     BY JOHN A. DARNELL JR.

An unknown female was booked into the Mahoning County Jail last week after an altercation with local police at Youngstown Skate, 7080 Tiffany Blvd.
The female came to the attention of local authorities after a Canfield woman, Emily Plaskett, called Boardman police expressing concerns for the female’s welfare, whom she believed could be 14-15 years old,
Plaskett said she was at a drive-thru in Cornersburg when she was approach by a female shortly after 7:00 p.m. on June 19. The female identified herself as ‘Dianna,’ and also used the names of ‘Sky’ and ‘Eclipse,’ according to police.
“Dianna told Plaskett that she’s from North Carolina and was in town to meet with her partner, and her partner’s father, whom she met on-line,” Ptl. Makenzie Butcherine said, adding “Dianna said she needed to be at Youngstown Skate by 8:00 p.m., so Plaskett agreed to give her a ride.”
Police said that ‘Dianna’ told Plaskett that an uber had dropped her off “in this area and she had no idea how to get to Youngstown Skate on her own.”
When police located the female at Youngstown Skate, she said her name was “Deanna M. Patterson. She stated she was 19 or 20-years-old, but did not know her birthday,” Ptl. Joe Innocenzi said, noting the female had no identification and said she was from South Carolina.
“The only items the female possessed with a name on it was a food stamp card from South Carolina with the name of Deanna Patterson on it,” Officer Innocenzi said, noting that he believed the female could be 15 to 20-years-old.
“The female continued to give different birthdates and would not provide further information, only stating she is homeless,” Ptl. Innocenzi said.
Boardman PD Ptl. Joe Lamping spoke with people who were with ‘Deanna’ inside Youngstown Skate.
“Only one person in the group knew any information,” Ptl. Lamping said, noting the ‘one person’ said the female was 14-years-old “and stated she was running away from South Carolina due to the fact she was being raped.”
As police continued to speak with ‘Deanna,’ she began yelling and at one point took off her shirt, exposing her breasts, Ptl. Innocenzi said.
‘Deanna’ was then advised she was going to be arrested for public indecency and according to police, began to fight with officers, kicking one officer and then attempting to bite officers’ hands and arms as they were trying to place her into handcuffs.
Once cuffed, the female was placed into a cruiser where she began to strike her head against a partition and tried to bite herself.
When Lt. Brian Habeger attempted to stop the female from hurting herself, she spit on him.
The female was placed under arrest on charges of obstruction, assaulting a police officer and public indecency. She was taken to Mercy Health/Youngstown for evaluation.
The next day, June 20, about 1:00 p.m., ‘Deanna’ was released from the hospital and turned over to Boardman police to be taken to the county jail.
Boardman police said that Deanna had conversation with the jail staff where she claimed at one point in her life she was in foster care in Calhoun County, West Virginia. She said she never had a driver’s license and caseworkers in West Virginia assisted her in obtaining a social security card, but she did not possess the card that she needed in order to get food stamps in South Carolina.
