THE 19th ANNUAL MAHONING VALLEY SLOVAK FEST will be held Sun., Aug. 11, from noon to 5:00 p.m. at St. Matthias Church, 2800 Shady Run Rd. A feature of the event will be music and entertainment by Gorska Muzicka, a group of student folk singers from Orava, Slovakia. There will also be a grand basket raffle, loads of Slovak foods, a bake sale, a Salvadoran Papusas and other raffles. This year’s Slovak Fest also features an evening of music and food on Fri., Aug. 9, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at St. Christine Parish Center, 3165 South Schenley Ave., where Gorska Muzicka will be a feature.
