A CROWD OF MORE than 350 persons attended A Night Out with Jennifer Cancio, (pictured) that was held last weekend at the Columbiana Arts Theater, for the first show of the “Artist Series,” that features a lineup of some of the area’s most noteworthy musicians. The concert featured Cancio’s musical channeling of icons including Janis Joplin, Stevie Nicks, Whitney Houston, Metallica, Charlie Daniels, Heart, Linda Ronstadt, Gretchen Wilson, Joni Mitchell, The Beatles, Black Sabbath and others, was set against a backdrop of her inspiring yet cheeky storytelling of her journey from self-doubt to self-love and ultimate peace. Cancio received her classical violin education first from the renowned, award winning Boardman High School Orchestra from 1994-1998, led by the late Carol Clark, while also being a featured vocalist in the Boardman High School Show Choir. She went on to study music at the University of Mount Union from 1998-2002.
