Meeting on Mon., June 7, the Board of Boardman Township Trustees---Tom Costello, Larry Moliterno and Steve Yacovone---recognized the Surgical Hospital at Southwoods and its chief operating officer Edward Muransky.
      A proclamation noted that Southwoods “has demonstrated exceptional dedication to healthcare excellence and has been recognized with a prestigious five-star rating for cleanliness from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
      “Southwoods stands as the only hospital in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana Counties to receive this honor, setting the highest standard for clinical environment and patient care in our region.”
      Under Muransky’s leadership, the proclamation noted Southwoods “has become a pillar of quality, trust and innovation in the healthcare community.”
      In accepting the proclamation, Muransky noted advice that he received years ago from the late Edward J. DeBartolo that Southwoods is a great location for a hospital.
      “We are approaching 1600 employees and I couldn’t be more proud,” Muransky said citing the “team” effort that makes Southwoods special.
      The proclamation noted the five star rating Southwoods received is based on patient feedback---“This recognition from our patients speaks volumes about the trust and satisfaction we’ve built in the community and is a testament to the hard work, diligence and compassion demonstrated by the entire staff.”
