Education during a special meeting in October. Following is that report card.

Achievement: 4 stars
The Achievement Component is a measure of how well students performed on state tests. Boardman Local Schools exceeds state standards in academic achievement.
Progress: 2 stars
The Progress Component is a measure of the growth students are making based on their past performance. The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce says there is “Significant evidence that the district fell short of student growth expectations.”
Gap Closing: 5 stars
The Gap Closing Component is a measure of the reduction in educational gaps for student groups. Boardman Local Schools significantly exceeds state standards in closing educational gaps (Despite the 5-star rating, the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce gave the Boardman Local School District zero points on a 9-point scale for English Language Arts Growth).
Graduation: 5 stars
The Graduation Component is a measure of the four-year adjusted cohort graduation rate and the five-year adjusted cohort graduation rate. Boardman Local Schools significantly exceeds state standards in graduation rates (97.3 per cent of students graduate).
Early Literacy: 3 stars
The Early Literacy Component is a measure of reading improvement and proficiency for students in kindergarten through third grade. Boardman schools meet state standards in early literacy (K-3).

Military Readiness: 1 star
The College, Career, Workforce, and Military Readiness Component is a measure of how prepared Ohio’s students are for future opportunities, whether training in a technical field or preparing for work or college. Boardman Local Schools needs significant support to meet state standards in college, career, workforce, and military readiness.
