MacMurchy Leaves Animal Charity Of Ohio
‘The changes that have been occurring this year no longer align with my morals and values’ :   December 11, 2025 Edition
Jane MacMurchy announced on social media on Sat., Dec. 6 that she is resigning as executive director of Animal Charity of Ohio, 8469 Southern Blvd., Boardman. MacMurchy explained her decision to leave the agency as follows:
“It is with great sadness that I share the news, I have resigned from Animal Charity. Like several before me, walking away from an organization that I spent years of my life with was never the plan. However, the changes that have been occurring this year no longer align with my morals and values.
“Every day, I get the chance to meet so many community members, thanking me for my work. I am so honored to be able to have said it was all teamwork. For years we worked so hard to fight for change, to build a better future, to save as many lives as possible, but also to be there for each other and work together. All though several of them have already resigned, it is not without saying, I will miss you all.
“I have met so many amazing people over the almost 9 years of working in the community. There have been so many organizations and people that knew exactly what I was fighting for, I can’t say thank you enough for working with me to try and be the change needed for so many.
“What does the future hold? Right now, I’m grieving and man is it hard. I am going to take a few weeks to rest. However, my work isn’t done. Years ago, I joined the United States Marine Corps. The sole reason, was to serve. Even though it has only been a short time since my departure, my soul and who I am, cannot survive without serving the community that I have worked so hard to change. There are animals in this county that will still need saved. Even though I am taking a break, this isn’t goodbye forever. There is still work to be done.
Thank you for the years of support, I will update you all when I land somewhere safe and begin my next journey.”
