In addition to a wide range of personnel matters, the Boardman Board of Education approved some $2.467 million for capital improvement projects during the summer, during the regular monthly meeting held in May at Stadium Dr. Elementary School
      Those projects include roof repairs at Glenwood Jr. high school, $550,000; roof repairs at West Blvd. Elementary School, $674,000; stairway work of Boardman High School, $58,325; installation of new, synthetic turf at Boardman Stadium, $612,978; and chiller system replacement at Boardman High School, $571.819.
      The school board okayed three year contract for nine persons. They are the following:
       •Alyssa Birch, graphic communication coordinator effective July 1 through June 30, 2029, $85,378;
       •Todd Burkey, supervisor of athletic training, strength and conditioning effective July 1 through June 30, 2029, $65,286;
       •Alphonse Cervello, West Boulevard Elementary School principal effective August 1 through July 31, 2029. $103,578;
       •Amy Marcella, administrative assistant to the Business Office effective July 1 through June 30, 2029, $49,353;
       •Laura McCreery, Glenwood Junior High School principal effective August 1 through July 31, 2029, $106,340;
       •Amy Radinovic-Andrascik, communication coordinator effective July 1 through June 30, 2029, $85,378;
       •Jennifer Scarmack, coordinator of special education effective July 1 through June 30, 2029. $102,299;
       •Brianne Severn, Glenwood Junior High School assistant principal effective August 1, through July 31, 2029, $90,932 and
       •Bart Smith, coordinator of student supports effective July 1 through June 30, 2029, $106,340.
