an 18-year employee of the Boardman Township Road Department was feted last Friday at a retirement luncheon where fellowship and comradery among employees of the BRD were hallmarks of the event. Carl Vimmerstedt, pictured, worked mostly on catch basin and masonry jobs, as well served as a plow truck operator during winter months. “He was a hard, old-school worker with good work ethics, liked by everyone he worked with,” said Road Supt. Kim Blasco, who baked Vimmerstedt a special, 10-lb. cake for the retirement event. Vimmerstedt said he will miss working at the Boardman Road Department.
