      A book-signing is set for Sun., Aug. 23, from noon to 2:00 p.m. at Barnes & Noble in the Shops at Boardman Park for a former Playboy Playmate of the Month (Aug., 2001) who has authored her memoir entitled Beyond the Velvet Ropes: My Story of Perseverance, Hope, and Love.
      The book follows Jennifer’s Walcott Archuleta’s journey from growing up in the Mahoning Valley through Hollywood, personal trauma, healing, and ultimately discovering purpose through family and service.
      Published on July 4, 2026, the 252‑page memoir contrasts the polished, glamorous life many see behind the scenes with the hidden struggles and emotional battles Archuleta has faced. She shares her journey through trauma, fear, difficult relationships, and life‑altering events, revealing the moments of confusion, loss of control, and fear that tested her strength.
      Her story is not about perfection — it’s about real, imperfect experiences that shaped her identity and forced her to decide who she wanted to become. Archuleta writes about rebuilding when you don’t know where to start, and about the quiet strength it takes to hold it all together
      She lives on the West Coast with her husband, former NFL player and CBS Sports commentator Adam Archuleta, their three children, five rescue dogs, and two tortoises.
      Adam Archuleta, who spent seven seasons playing in the NFL as a safety, has currently found himself working as a CBS sports announcer. Although the 46-year-old announced his retirement from the gridiron many years ago, his wife, Jennifer, has continued to remain in the news for her boldness.
      She is the host of Unfiltered with Jen Archuleta, where she has honest conversations with guests from all walks of life about perseverance, personal growth and the moments that shape us.
      Jennifer is also the co-founder of The Forever Angels, a non-profit dedicated to helping those in need, and she is passionate about animal rescue.
      Standing at 5-3, Jennifer is famously known for her work as a Playboy model. That came on the back of a Playboy party she attended as a make-up artist, and her beauty was instantly recognized. From winning the Playmate of the Month, she launched her website that catered to her growing fan following. After multiple appearances in Playboy magazines in the next few editions, she got her big breakthrough when Scary Movie actress Carmen Electra called her.
      She was invited to model on playboy.com, thereby putting her in the limelight. And that was only the beginning of what Jennifer soon achieved through her burgeoning career. Soon after, she popped up in multiple music videos featuring Justin Timberlake and Marc Anthony.
      On the back of her growth as a model, she landed a role in the movie American Pie: Band Camp. And after three years of getting her breakthrough in Hollywood, she was seen in The Pool Boys, released in 2008. Apart from appearing on the big screen, she had multiple television roles on her resume, like Weakest Link, Street Smarts, Dog Eat Dog, MTV Cribs, and more.
      She didn’t stop there, as she got herself into a video game called Postal III. Looking back, Jennifer went through a multiverse of professional achievements. But her greatest one was to marry Adam Archuleta.
      She and Adam share three children: sons Jett and Hawk, and daughter, Piper. Their first child was born in 2008 when Jennifer showed her baby bump on the cover of Holistic Health Magazine. It was to spread awareness that she managed the pregnancy organically instead of catering to drugs.
      Even though the couple currently reside in Los Angeles, Jennifer spent her childhood in the Mahoning Valley. From growing up as a cheerleader and dancer, she completed her studies at Lowellville High School. Although she found most success as a model, it was not her first choice. She wanted to be a veterinarian while being surrounded by pets all her childhood.
      She moved to Los Angeles when she was 19-years-old in search of a better lifestyle. And she did manage to pull it off, considering the success she had as a model.
      However, nowadays, she spends her time volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House in Washington, DC. She has a diverse range of talents, including as a poet and one of her pieces won the Reader’s Digest contest.
      Her greatest hope is that readers close her new book believing their past does not have to define their future.
      “Coming home with this book feels incredibly meaningful,” said Archuleta. “This story began here, and being able to share it with the community that shaped me is something I’ll always cherish. My hope is that readers walk away believing that no matter what they’ve been through, there is always hope.”
